Explainer Videos are a relatively new term to describe animated marketing, training and communication videos. Most Explainer Videos are short, around 1-3 minutes in length, but some can be 10 minutes or longer, depending on how in-depth the subject needs to be. Our Explainer videos are either Whiteboard Animation or 2D Animation.

Whiteboard Animation videos, also known as Doodle Videos, usually involve a hand drawing cartoon images on screen along with a voice track and music. The action of the hand drawing keeps the viewer engaged, as they want to know what will be drawn next. The combination of the voice track and images helps to make key points stick in the mind, so that they can be remembered much more easily than talking head videos.

2D Animation involves computer-generated characters, objects and backgrounds. Whereas there is very little movement in Whiteboard Animation videos, apart from the action of the hand drawing, 2D Animation involves full movement, so you can have the characters moving, walking, talking, driving, even flying to the moon if you want! We can make the animation as complex as you need, depending on your budget. For low budgets, we recommend a simple animation style with basic movements.

We can handle the full production of your video from start to finish, from writing the script and storyboard to the custom-designed images, professional voiceover with a native accent of your choice, music, and animation. We never use clip art or templates, or AI software, so you know your video won’t be like anyone else’s. You are allocated your own Project Manager who will be your sole contact for the whole of the project. We also include unlimited corrections as standard, so you know you’ll love your completed video.

Our prices are very competitive bearing in mind that we run a full production service. Most of our projects are priced between $2,000 and $10,000 depending on the type of animation and video length, but if you have a limited budget, we’re happy to discuss what we can do for you. We charge 50% at the start of the project and the remaining 50% once your video is completed. We kick off each project by providing you with our Client Questionnaire. Once you have completed and returned it, we arrange a 30-45 minute consultation call with you over the phone or Zoom/Teams to go through your answers in more detail. We then have everything we need to write the script and storyboard for your video. Once the script and storyboard are finalised and approved, we’ll send it to your chosen cartoonist and voice artist to provide the images and voice track, making any fixes along the way, if required. Once your voice track has been recorded and approved, we’ll provide you with a list of music tracks that complement the voice track and, once you have selected one, we’ll compile your video for your review. As mentioned in question 5 above, we work on an unlimited corrections basis, so will make sure that you’re 100% happy with your final video. As a ballpark, we can produce Whiteboard Animation videos within 4-6 weeks and 2D animation videos from 5-8 weeks. If you’re providing a completed script, that will help to reduce the timescales. The main thing that affects the project length is how long it takes you to review and provide feedback on the work in progress. We will be providing you with the script, storyboard, sketches, coloured images, voice, music and completed video. If you’re able to provide feedback on each within 24-48 hours each time, that will help to reduce the length of the project, but we’re happy to work within your preferred response times.

Yes, we are often asked to make amends to videos when the details change. We will quote you a price based on the amount of work involved to change and recompile your video, whether that is altering the images, voice track, or both.

Yes, we can work from your own script, or improve your draft script. We can also use your own voice track, though we recommend that it needs to be recorded using professional equipment in a room that doesn’t echo, preferably a recording studio. We also give discounts on our prices if you are providing your own script and/or voice track.
